Why Mayfield?

People who have spent time on the mid-Peninsula may wonder why the city of Palo Alto has two downtowns: University Avenue and California Avenue.  California Avenue is the downtown of the former town of Mayfield, which merged with Palo Alto in 1925. A fan of all things historic, Alisa thought it was fitting to name her preservation-focused business after an historic name of her hometown.
